About
I started photography in self-taught at the age of 18 when I started my graduate studies in digital communication. Curious, I explored several types of photography: weddings, portraits, lifestyles, packshots, animals and even astrography. My trips to Shanghai, Lisbon, New York and across India were perfect playgrounds. That's how I ended up starting to write a blog to tell about my adventures.
I will never thank my parents enough for not banning video games. Because it's thanks to the universes of Pokémon, Assassins Creed, Sly Cooper and other games that I was able to develop this story-telling side where I like to create as much as to be amazed by history. Finally, the journey, the photo and the video games have one thing in common: that of travelling through several universes and feeling a multitde of emotions.
After getting my Master "Expert in Digital Strategy" I went to Quebec for a year. In parallel with my first job, I decided to lead a Project 365 where I took one photo per day of my Montreal daily. It has been since this journey that my relationship with photography keeps evolving. I do not hesitate to dive into books, to look at the work of other photographers to sharpen my eye, discover new methods and deepen the "Why" I click on a camera.
When I came back to France, it was the starting point of my life. The one where anything was possible. And at worst, I won't regret much if I give myself up. I set myself a to-do list with all my goals and how to achieve them. The first goal was to photograph a basketball game and prove myself.
To have more flexibility and open doors to opportunities, whether in photo or social media, I opened a freelance status. And it's a winter evening of 2021 that my to-do list had a new checkbox I was hoping for more. It's been a few years since I gave up my sneakers on the field as a player. The little me would be very proud to know that I have been working since 2022 in a club where I combine passion for communication and sport as Community Manager & Content Creator.
And even if this road seems almost idyllic to you, know that not everything is always easy. 1 year in an agency where hell was my daily life until I questioned my skills, 6 months of unemployment and a failed goal - to photograph the Paris Olympics - success and especially failures make us who we are and above all make our greatest victories of tomorrow.
Now, you know a little more about me. Alexia the geek, the photographer, the traveler, the sentimental, the hardworking, the organized and the optimist I am... And if one day I thought « Why not me? », so with your own qualities, I'm sure you could say « Why not you? »
If you want to follow my daily life, I'm active on Instagram and Twitter. And you can see my work on my portfolio.
