Process

The 23-24 season was special. With the arrival of an NBA prospect, Zaccharie Risacher, who was drafted in the 1st position, the team's very satisfactory results and my desire to always do better, the work kept coming. The organization of this season was exceptional where I was the only one to create and post content on the professional team and Youth Team.
A very fast pace that was necessary to capitalize on the momentum surrounding the club.

Start of the season with "La Prépa"

At every pre-season for 5 years now, the club produces a series of video content called "La Prepa". The goal is to show the backstage, make the new players known and reconnect the fans with the team.

For the pre-season 23-24, there were two small news to vary from season to season : a special episode «The Prepapero« , shot at the Charles Réma's shop and a rather fun hook on each video thanks to effects. This allowed the spectator to quickly be interested. I had some fans who asked me in the street: «And Alexia, you were on Ekinox's roof ?«

In August 2022, we count 159,021 views including 5000 on YouTube.
In August 2023, we count double with 304,501 views including 9,000 on YouTube.
Fans always like to see this content more despite its 5 years.

It is first and foremost a story of quick insights, authenticity, and simplicity. Hence his capture with a smartphone!

The classic Media Day

Among the different workshops of the day that were organized to create as much content as possible, I realized the photo lifestyle shooting to promote our new clothing collection or to illustrate other information.

The development of a Gameday

A specific gameday is used for home games during the French championship, the Betclic Elite. This video helps set a certain mood before the game. More noises and ardour to turn Ekinox initially seen as a showroom into a very hot room where it is hard for the opposing teams to win there.

Originally planned only for the pre-game show, I used the footage filmed by Dan Javourez during the media day.

The National Basketball League requires us to take some photos of opposing warming, which I therefore included in my routine.

A special game for the 10-year-old Ekinox

For the 10th anniversary of the Ekinox Hall, we organised a special evening during a Betclic Elite championship game. Competition games, a drone show and especially the exceptional presence of Gorilla, the mascot of the Suns in NBA.

A documentary to pay tribute

We did a final tribute to Frédéric Sarre, former coach and then sports director at the JL Bourg.

This 38-minute documentary made early in the season is a good proof of the collective spirit of our small team of 4 people. My role was to capture the interviews, make photos of the shooting and provide help on the colorgrading part of the editing.

The release of the documentary was announced at the tribute ceremony held after a game in Ekinox. Many of Fred Sarre's friends were gathered, including the Presidents of the French Basketball Federation and the National Basketball League.

Fun content all year long

For a long time the JL Bourg has bet on the family side of the club as well as its performance continuously improving. Today the club has a new European dimension and it is essential to communicate differently. Today, all clubs show beautiful actions and behind the scenes. What distinguishes us from other teams is our players and their personalities. The link between our fans and the team is therefore at the forefront of performance.

Merchandising throughout the season

This season was exceptional on the merchandising side with a new collection : the Iconic T-shirt, the Legacy jersey, the sleeveless jacket and a new product in our upcycling collection.

Sustainable merch

The JL Bourg is the first French club to be committed to reducing its environmental impact. This season, we released a new collection to give life to the old balls.

Legacy Edition

At the end of the season, we did the big thing: a special edition of our season jersey that the players wore in the last game of the season. This is the first time that a French Betclic Elite team wore a cream jersey instead of traditional white at home.

Exceptional Playoffs in Eurocup

Final quarter: forget bad memories and move forward

JL Bourg had been defeated in Patras for the quarterfinals the previous season. This time, the direct elimination game was at home. Set up the previous season for the French championship playoffs, we resumed the capsules – interviews.

The creation of content focused on the stakes of each game, the ambition to win and spread the winning energy that the group had. Our goal: to share the players' emotions with the fans.

Semi-final: When Ekinox turns into a cauldron

In the semi-finals, we faced to the Turkish team, Besiktas, known for its very noisy and energetic supporters. The battle was fought on all possible fronts: on the court, on the stadium and social networks.

The team that won 2 games was the winner of the series. This chapter marked for life all the supporters and players of the team.

Beat in Istanbul, the fans turned into the final decisive game that was in Ekinox and were at the initiative of the national anthem during the game. This chapter has marked a whole city because of the trancedance that we had our fans and the accession for the first time in its history to the Final Four of EuroCup.

From the semi-final to the final, I followed the team on the road to make the fans live the insides to the maximum.

Backstages

Backstage is a micro serie on the backstage of the JL Bourg.
3 episodes were released on season 23/24.

Dive into the heart of the Bourg-en-Bresse fans with this series that highlights the club's greatest fans.
Only one episode was released this season.

Zaccharie Risacher, 2024 NBA Draft No. 1

The 22-23 season was marked by the phenomenal Victor Wembanyama, player of Metropolitans 92. On the 23-24 season, the cameras were focused on the JL Bourg team with Zaccharie Risacher announced in the Top 3 of the NBA Draft 2024. It was therefore natural to make specific content around the player in order to capitalize on his presence but it was important to maintain the balance between the players.

Collaboration with ESPN

The rushes filmed throughout the season served for the club but also generously to some media like ESPN. The channel broadcast the NBA draft live and was in charge of making a video clip featuring Zaccharie Risacher. The American media preferred to use exclusive videos of the player rather than essentially using TV images This video was seen worldwide live on the channel

All this content while also taking care of the youth team!

The Youth championship is one game per week, same day as profesionnal team. There are fewer content like the pre-match article or stories on the score during the game. The treatment is more basic: writing the post-game article and publishing the results on social networks with photos taken on some matches. This season was also very nice for them as they won the "Trophée du Futur", the end-of-season tournament that brings together the top eight teams in the tournament.

At the end of the season, at the "Trophée du Futur", a dedicated graphic charter was designed. Organized at the same time as the Betclic Elite Playoffs, fans had to clearly differentiate the two teams. We took the opportunity to make a charter in cream colour, like the Legacy Edition jersey. Before the start at the "Trophée du Futur", I shot the entire team on a white background to create the visuals.

When a youth player achieves an exceptional performance or enters his first points in pro, we do not hesitate to highlight him as was the case with Léon Sifferlin.
